The banking sector is an important aspect of a country's economic development, and has an important role in channeling financial resources and supporting various economic activities. The Bank not only focuses on financial management and maximizing its profits but also has a responsibility for environmental preservation and improving social welfare. This approach is referred to as sustainable banking. The performance of the banking sector is highly dependent on the quality of its human resources. Effective human resource (HR) management is essential to improve the performance and competitiveness of the banking sector. In supporting sustainable banking, the banking sector needs to implement Green Human Resource Management (GHRM). Green HRM refers to the integration of environmentally friendly policies and practices in the human resource management function. This includes activities such as promoting environmentally friendly behavior among employees, implementing green training and development programs, and incorporating environmental considerations into recruitment, selection, and performance management. Banks are increasingly recognizing the importance of integrating GHRM practices into their operations to align with sustainable banking principles. By implementing GHRM, banks can not only reduce their environmental impact but also improve the performance and reputation of their organizations. In addition, GHRM can contribute to the development of a skilled and environmentally conscious workforce, creating a competitive advantage for banks in the industry. This study aims to explore the current state of GHRM implementation in the banking sector, its impact on employee behavior and organizational performance, as well as the challenges and opportunities associated with the integration of GHRM into banking operations. This research seeks to contribute to existing knowledge about GHRM and its application in the banking industry, ultimately providing practical recommendations for banks to improve sustainable banking practices and performance through GHRM.
